Hanoi [Vietnam], February 9: The Saigon Port Customs Office, Area 4, under the Customs Sub-Department Area II (Ho Chi Minh City), has issued a series of notices regarding the temporary suspension of departures for many directors - legal representatives - of companies that owe millions to tens of millions of dong in taxes to this unit.
On February 6th, the Saigon Port Customs Area 4 (Customs Sub-Department Area II) sent two notices regarding the temporary suspension of exit to Ms. Le Thi Bach Tuyet and Minh Tu Establishment (old tax code 0304433598, new tax code 079174009614). The reason is that this establishment still owes taxes and late payment penalties for import declaration No. 1 dated January 6th, 2012 at the Saigon Port Customs Area 4, with a total outstanding tax amount of VND 45,346,142.
The second notice, also from the Saigon Port Customs Area 4, concerns the temporary suspension of departure for Ms. Le Thi Anh Hong, the legal representative of Asia Wood Import-Export Trading and Manufacturing Co., Ltd. The reason is that the company still owes taxes on import declaration number 2 dated February 23, 2012, registered at Saigon Port Customs Area 4, with a total outstanding tax amount of 8,747,760 VND.
With these two notices, the Saigon Port Customs Area 4 requested the company to fulfill its overdue tax obligations. After 30 days from the date of the notice, the customs will issue a notice temporarily suspending the exit of the company's legal representative.
The day before, on February 5th, the Saigon Port Customs Area 4 issued four notices temporarily suspending the departure of four individuals who were directors or legal representatives of businesses owing taxes from over 20 years ago, since 2005. In one case, the debt was less than 2 million VND.
Specifically, Notice No. 161 concerns the application of a temporary travel ban against Mr. Luc Thai, the legal representative of Quy Ky Group Joint Stock Company (Phu Dinh Ward, Ho Chi Minh City). The reason is that this company owes 45,354,552 VND in taxes to the Saigon Port Customs Area 4 for declaration number 18502 dated October 19, 2005.
