Hanoi [Vietnam], May 7: Following her brother's scandal, Jisoo continued to be the center of controversy when an international designer publicly criticized her team for the delay in returning the outfits.
Jisoo, the eldest member of Blackpink , unexpectedly became embroiled in a controversy regarding her outfits after a foreign designer complained that the singer's team had not returned borrowed items for an extended period.
Specifically, designer Benjamin Bortmans, founder of the fashion brand Judassime, stated, " Jisoo literally 'took' my outfit . " He said he sent the outfit and some accessories to Korea and the US for the album cover photoshoot, but after six months, he still hasn't received any response.
According to the designer, the loan period was initially planned to last only one week to one month, but it was repeatedly delayed. The designer emphasized that among the items sent were three important designs from a previous collection, which are of considerable value.
Despite providing contracts, invoices, and even considering legal action, he has yet to receive an official response from the relevant party. He even tagged Jisoo's social media account with the message: "Please return the items."
The designer clears Jisoo's name.
On the morning of May 6th, the Belgian designer continued to post a video updating the situation: "I just received news that things are being resolved. Someone will be sent to Korea to retrieve the items from Jisoo. I just want my things back, and now everything is being handled."
The designer said he was upset about being ignored for six months without any response from Jisoo. In recent days, he has been criticized by some netizens for mentioning the Blackpink member. Benjamin asserted that mentioning her name directly was only to get his designs back.
"I will not apologize. Even though I mentioned Jisoo's name, I believe her entire team needs to realize that they must treat others better in the future. If there is a problem, you need to address it. Not responding for six months is unacceptable," Benjamin asserted.
Following the incident's attention, the situation is believed to have improved somewhat. The designer revealed that their US partner had contacted them and announced they would send personnel to South Korea to handle the issue, while also expressing hope that all designers involved in the project would soon receive their work back. However, the specific reasons for the delay remain unclear.
Blissoo, Jisoo's management company, has yet to issue an official response to the incident.
