Vietnam, October 3: The Ho Chi Minh City Association of Small and Medium Enterprises celebrated its one-year anniversary after its congress and acknowledged many achievements.
The Ho Chi Minh City Small and Medium Enterprises Association (HCM-SME) held a celebration on the evening of October 2nd to mark Vietnamese Entrepreneurs' Day on October 13th and the first anniversary of the association's congress. According to Mr. Pham Van Triem, Chairman of HCM-SME, one year is not a long time, but the association has gradually strengthened its organization, expanded its membership network, enhanced its support activities for businesses , and built an increasingly close-knit and united community of entrepreneurs.
From approximately 150 members when the association's congress was launched a year ago, it now has over 700 members (far exceeding the expected target of 300). Continuing on this path, HCM-SME aims to have around 10,000 members by 2030. The Chairman of HCM-SME stated that in the coming years, the association will innovate even more strongly; focusing on what businesses truly need, such as market connectivity, access to capital, digital transformation, green transformation, improving management capacity, legal support, and promptly reporting business difficulties and obstacles to relevant authorities. "We believe that the association must truly be a common home for small and medium-sized enterprises; a place where businesses can find connections, cooperation opportunities, and a common voice, and a reliable bridge between businesses and the city government. We also hope to continue receiving the attention, listening, and support of the City Party Committee, the City People's Council, the City People's Committee, departments, and ward/commune governments so that we can better fulfill our role as a bridge between the government and the business community," Mr. Pham Van Triem shared.
Speaking at the HCM-SME event, Mr. Nguyen Cong Vinh, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, stated that alongside the achievements in the first nine months of this year, the city has frankly acknowledged that some growth drivers have not been fully utilized; the production and business activities of some enterprises are still facing difficulties... Therefore, the city has identified the fundamental bottlenecks currently facing businesses, primarily in terms of procedures, land, capital, technology, and market access, in order to focus on implementing solutions. The Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee affirmed that the success of businesses is also the success of the city. The Ho Chi Minh City government always listens to and supports the business community with the spirit of "Government serving - businesses developing - people benefiting." The city will continue to concretize stronger support mechanisms for the private sector, especially regarding venture capital funds and innovation, as well as perfecting the legal framework for preferential policies and incentives to encourage sustainable business development.
On this occasion, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee awarded certificates of merit to the HCM-SME Association, Tan Phuoc Thinh Investment and Construction Joint Stock Company, and Mr. Pham Van Triem personally for their achievements in development and their continuous contributions to social work over many years.
